I am officially coining the phrase marble, something I do a little too often:
- Marble
- v. synonym of garble: with that parrot in my mouth, my words got all marbled
- v. the confusion of parts of existing words into one new word: smutter from smother and stutter; stook from stole and took

I don’t necessarily mean thoughtless or accidental. This sort of carelessness is a cultivated naïveté and a quickness of speech. I’ve discovered that the word spoonerism is pretty much what I meant here. Silly me, reinventing the wheel.
