There’s a cute little coffee shop in Davis Square called the Someday Cafe. I’ve taken to stopping there for a drink and a read after work. One recent addition to their lounge area is a large flat screen to which you can send text messages. I think it’s a cute way to offer a low-risk means of communicating to the other customers.
But it dawned on me that you don’t have to be in the cafe to send a message to the screen. This seems like a possibility begging to be exploited. Not in a malicious way, but in a clever or fun way. I’ve been wracking my brain to come up with some cute use for it, but I haven’t got anything great yet.
My best idea is something along the lines of starting some quest or scavenger hunt from it. Like saying they’ll find a treasure map under the big circle table or something. I dunno. Most ideas are just better served by doing it in person; I have yet to find something that blossoms via an anonymous remote text message. Anyone got a clever idea?

How do you send a text message to it? Also what time are you typically there?
You send your message to this certain phone number. I don’t want to give it out over the Internet, I’ll send it to you out of band.
I usually hang out anywhere between 6 and 8.
