RemoteControl is a simple python applet written for the ROX-Filer environment. It is designed to allow quick, convenient access to whichever commands you desire. The initial purpose was a way to control my xmms instance without resorting to actually using xmms.

RemoteControl is released under the terms of the GNU GPL.

Python, ROX-Lib, and pygtk are required.

RemoteControl is simple, but what it does claim to do, it does well. By editing the config file, you can assign arbitrary commands to each button, adjust the number of buttons, and change what the text of each button is.

Right now, the only command set included with the program is to control xmms. If you have a set that you find useful, and you think others will not laugh at you for it, send it to me. I will include it with the next release.

RemoteControl was written with the intention of being an applet. However, it is fine as a stand-alone application. (Just use the executable AppRun instead of AppletRun.)
